Start out by downloading the template from BHG.com. Feel free to type in any sort of Valentine’s Day greeting you choose, and print it out. Start this easy craft idea by making the homemade scratch off solution. Mix two parts metallic acrylic paint and one part dishwashing liquid. Cut a strip of clear contact paper and flip it over so the paper side is up. Templates are available on BHG.com to trace onto the back of the contact paper. Flip it back over and tape it down on a flat surface. Add the scratch off solution to your Valentine’s Day craft using a flat watercolor brush. Simply coat the contact paper with a thin layer of the solution. Make sure to cover the hearts that were traced onto the back for these homemade Valentine’s Day cards. Let it dry for an hour and repeat with a second coat. Cut out the hearts and peel off the backing, sticking the finished heart onto the template.
